           About Me        

An academician, with an innate urge to carry out research and encourage to propel STEM students and young professionals towards sustainable and research-oriented technological understanding. A self-motivated maritime professional having more than 20 years of experience in Shipbuilding and Maritime Economics, Ocean-wave Mechanics, Hydrodynamics, Motion, and Stability of Floating Bodies, Ship Recycling, Marine Pollution, and Energy Efficiency Design. After successfully completing my undergraduate study at Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Department in Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), I joined as a faculty member (Lecturer) in the same Department of BUET in 1999. I completed my Ph.D. from the Yokohama National University of Japan in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering, I returned to my Department  in March 2006. I am currently serving as a Professor at BUET. I have served as a Head of the Department from 29 February 2020 to 2 March 2022.   I have also served as a Visiting Professor for Ecole De Nantes, France, and  as an Adjunct Faculty for the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Bangladesh, and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University (BSMRMU), Bangladesh. Apart from my experiences in teaching and research, I have also served as a Technical Consultant for several national and foreign projects. My key research concentration is based on the fields of fluid mechanics and hydrodynamics, stability, shipbuilding, maritime economics and transportation and green ship recycling.
